内容简介
同中文版。In the context of global warming, the risk of drought disasters in China is increasing. Droughts in China are now occurring with a high frequency and intensity. Drought disasters have an impact on a wide range of human activities and result in heavy losses to society. This book focuses on the changing features and risk characteristics of drought disasters. It summarizes research results in terms of five aspects of drought disasters: 1) a review of drought disasters and the risks they pose, 2) monitoring of droughts and their spatial and temporal distribution characteristics, 3) changes in the characteristics of drought hazard factors, 4) an assessment of the vulnerability and risk of drought, and 5) the impact of climate warming on agriculture. The content of this book covers the characteristics of drought disasters and their variability in the context of climate warming. We considered the impact of climate change and human activities and considered the sensitivity of the environment to drought disasters. We constructed a conceptual model of drought risk and developed an evaluation method, described the impact of climate warming on the drought disaster risk, evaluated the impact of drought disasters on food production, and identified a north–south difference in China’s agricultural losses due to drought under climate warming. We also assessed the impact of climate warming on agricultural planting structure, water use efficiency, heavy metal accumulation, and food security. Our work provides a scientific reference for improving the prevention and risk management of drought disasters. This book will provide a reference for professionals engaged in scientific research and business in the fields of geography, ecology, meteorology, hydrology, agriculture, and economy, and will be an important tool for managers and decision-makers in government departments.
